Week 12

Yesterday we had our second prenatal doctor's visit (everything was spot on and normal!). I was all excited to hear the heartbeat, but our doctor said it was still a little early & her instrument probably wouldn't pick it up. So we got another ultrasound instead! The change in the last month is amazing! While I still can't wait to hear with my own ears our little one's "thuh - thump - thuh - thump" it was truly amazing to SEE the heart beating nice and strong. Here is a little video!

Week 11

I can't believe that we are almost done with the first trimester!!! We're already 1/3 of the way there! It is constantly astounding to me that there is a little life growing inside my tummy! I'm still feeling great 90% of the time, so often times it all seems so sureal.

Here are some week 5 & week 9 comparisons of my belly. There is an every so slight difference, and Dave firmly says I'm officially "showing". I'll feel like I'm showing when strangers can tell I'm pregnant, not just eating too many donuts! (I actually haven't eaten any donuts, although I have been craving them!)

Yes, I'm a horrible mama blogger! I promise I wont wait another month for the next update. Here are the highlights of the last month...

*Morning sickness arrived a couple weeks ago. Stayed a week then went on its not-so-merry way.

*Had our first doctor appointment. Everything was normal! Got our first ultra sound and picture of Baby Brinker. It was amazing to actually SEE the heartbeat!

*Appetite is all wacko. The good thing is that only healthy things sound good to eat.

*Energy levels are up and down. Some days all I want to do is sleep, others I feel totally normal. Is this pregnant thing for real?!?

* Bought first baby clothes! Aren't they cute!!!???
